The Governing Board is asked to discuss and possibility revise the ongoing Learning Plan for the 2020-21 school year.

Due to the Covid pandemic, school has been closed for in-person instruction since March 17, 2020.  On September 15, 2020, the Board directed staff to implement in-person intervention and instruction for equipment dependent classes. On October 27, 2020, the Board approved a hybrid in-person/distance learning model for grades TK-6 and continuation of the hybrid program at Winzler Children's Center.

The Board took action at the emergency meeting on March 15, 2020 to close school sites for in-person instruction, effective March 17, 2020. 

 

On July 30, 2020, the Board voted to start the school year with distance learning and have another discussion about in-person learning, and distance learning, with the exception of students with disabilities, at a special Board meeting on September 15, 2020.  

 

At the Special meeting on September 15, 2020, the Board moved to keep all sites, except for Winzler Children's Center, in the distance learning model through January 22, 2021 and start in-person instruction for intervention and equipment dependent classes. 

 

On October 8, 2020, Trustee Duncan requested this item be brought back to the Board for discussion and possible action as the County is at the lowest (minimal) level of risk on the Community Risk Level scale through the County of Humboldt COVID Dashboard. 

 

On October 27, 2020, the  Board approved a hybrid in-person/distance learning model for grades TK-6 and continuation of the hybrid program at Winzler Children's Center.
